Join us for our April Chapter meeting on Tuesday, April 30, at Georgia Bob's, Uncorked, in Byron, GA! Social Happy Hour at 5:30, and our program and dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m.
We will learn about the major 401k retirement plan changes as directed by the Secure 2.0 Act. Specifically, we will:
1. Develop employer awareness resulting from new 401k responsibilities
2. Learn how to communicate to employees and manage expectations regarding changes to retirement plans
3. Acquire additional HR tools regarding 401k retirement plans
Our speaker, Witt Gaither, is the Chief Operating Officer for Smith, Brown and Groover, Inc., a 91 year old, family-owned, full service Broker Dealer in Macon. He earned a B. S. in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and spent 9 years as an U.S. Army Infantry Officer, serving in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and the 75th Ranger Regiment. He began his civilian career at Textron as the Director of Operations for the E-Z GO golf car facility in Augusta. Later, he was the Director of Materials for Yazaki NACOM, a tier I automotive electronics manufacturer, in Griffin. Before joining Smith, Brown and Groover, Inc. in 2011, he spent 12 years as the General Manager for GIGA Inc., a Federal Contractor serving the U.S. Military in Macon. He currently holds the Series 7, Series 24, Series 63 and Series 99 licenses and is a Designated Supervisory Principal for the firm.

The U.S. Department of Labor said Tuesday it will publish a final rule raising the Fair Labor Standards Act’s minimum annual salary threshold for overtime pay eligibility in a two-step process.
Starting July 1, the threshold will increase from $35,568 to $43,888 per year. It will then increase to $58,656 on Jan. 1, 2025. Stay tuned for more details!
